MASS HYSTERIA - PRODUCING A BROADWAY SHOW - last concert of 2010-11
("Mass - A theatre piece for singers, players and dancers" by Leonard Bernstein)

What is Leonard Bernstein’s "Mass:  A Theatre Piece for Singers, Players and Dancers"?
This was a HUGE show that featured over 200 performers including the Anchorage Concert Chorus, Alaska Children’s Choir, Alaska Dance Theatre, and a 50 piece orchestra.  Steven Alvarez was the lead soloist in the role of the priest/celebrant.  The Sunday performance was interpreted for the deaf - a first for the Anchorage Concert Chorus.  Anne and Lu did a marvelous job interpreting overlapping solos, latin and a lot of angst.  It was a ton of fun and more work than any of us imagined.

Many thanks to Steven Alvarez, priest/celebrant; Bryan Ketron, choreographer; Gerald Moshell, stage director; Rohan Silbaugh, boy soprano; Alaska Children's Choir; Alaska Dance Theatre; members of the MASS orchestra and the hundreds of other artists and workers.  See more photos
