ALWays:  A Tribute to
Andrew Lloyd Webber


…oh what a circus, oh what a show! Join the Anchorage Concert Chorus as it teams up with Theatre Artists United and Alaska Dance Theatre to perform some of Andrew’s best-loved music.  

Guest conductor David Tang will lead the Anchorage
Concert Chorus, a full orchestra and a talented array of
soloists and dancers on a journey of absolutely stunning music from the heart and soul of Andrew Lloyd Webber.

The evening will include the Alaskan premiere of his
Requiem which he dedicated to his father, William Lloyd Webber.  The Requiem won the 1986 Grammy Award for Best Classical Contemporary Composition.
Featuring Soprano, Christine Keene, and Treble Sopranos, Benjamin Harmon and Alexandra Guerra.

The evening will also feature a collection of Andrew’s
greatest hits from such shows as Phantom of the Opera, Cats, Jesus Christ Superstar, Evita and Joseph and the
Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat.  Impressive costumes, spirited performers and dancers combined with superb soloists and the always excellent Chorus and Orchestra will ensure that anyone who loves the music of Andrew Lloyd Webber will enjoy this production!

Johnathan White
Soloist, Requiem

Johnathan Stanford White hails from Hamilton, New Jersey where he began his studies in music playing the violin with the Greater Princeton Youth Orchestra.  He served as the Contracted national anthem singer Princeton University before enrolling in the College of Charleston, in Charleston, South Carolina in 2004. While working on his BA in Vocal Performance, he was a featured soloist in Messiah, Saint Saens Christmas oratorio,  Seven last words of Christ, as well as numerous Spoleto USA and Piccolo Spoleto Performances.
 
Johnathan made his symphonic debut as the Tenor Soloist in  the Honegger King David with the Charleston Symphony Orchestra in 2008 and then was a soloist again with the CSO in 2009.  He was selected to sing at the Jussi Bjorling Centennial Celebration at Gustavus in 2011.  As a celebrated young artist, Johnathan has been both a State and Regional Winner at the NATS competition and MTNA Voice Competition. He is currently an Artist in Residence with Opera Carolina where he performs as a Staff Chorus Member. He made his professional Operatic Debut in the role of Emperor in Turendot.  Johnathan is also contracted with Opera Carolina in this season's upcoming production of La Fancuilla del West.
