September 2020
We mourn the loss of Randall Fleischer, conductor of the Anchorage Symphony Orchestra, who died unexpectedly on August 20. The ACC has sung joint concerts with the ASO under Randy many times over the years, and Randy appreciated singers and always brought out the best in us. His droll humor and outgoing personality were as much a part of his work as his splendid musicianship and leadership abilities. He brought symphonic music to groups and venues that were unlike the traditional symphony performances, giving a broader base of people a love of the symphony. Randy is already sorely missed, and we send our thoughts and prayers to Randy’s family and friends, his ASO family, and the arts community that were so enriched by him and his music.

9/25 UPDATE:
The Chorus lost a friend in Russell Courter who died this week. He was our conductor for the Community Messiah in 2015, and his wife Stephanie has done solos in that yearly production. Music and the Messiah meant a great deal to him, and his
family as asked that donations in Russell's memory be made to the Anchorage Concert Chorus, to be used to support a future Messiah production. If you wish to donate, please click on this link to our PayPal donation account. Alternatively, you can click the donate button below at the bottom of the page then click OTHER and type "In memory of Russell Courter".
Thank you from Russell's family and the ACC

Fall 2020
Dear Anchorage Concert Chorus Community,
In light of COVID-19 the ACC is regrettably suspending all public performances for the remainder of 2020. Specific choral related COVID incidents like the Skagit County Choir outbreak in March which resulted in 87% of the choir being infected and 2 deaths have helped inform this decision. This will be a great opportunity for chorus members to turn inward and hone musicianship skills. Grant Cochran will be leading virtual classes this fall for membership focusing on Music Theory, Ear Training and Rhythm Exercises as well as some virtual choir performances. An announcement will follow about further activities and events made available to members and the public this fall.
Stay safe, practice social distancing and please wear a mask in public spaces.
Sincerely,
The ACC Board of Directors, Grant & Stephen
