Saturday, October 14, 8:00 p.m. Atwood Concert Hall, Alaska Center for the Performing Arts Pre-concert lecture at 7:00 p.m.
Dr. Grant Cochran’s 25th season opens with a program of inspiring choral-orchestral masterpieces: Stravinsky’s Symphony of Psalms, Brahms’ Begräbnisgesang (Don’t let the name scare you – this short work has a beautiful and shattering impact!), Beethoven’s Choral Fantasia featuring pianist Timothy Smith, and Mozart’s Davide Penitente with sopranos Kate Egan and Christine Renee Keene, and tenor Keith Kenley. This will be a night of great music from great composers with great local soloists in the Greatland – an opening night musical celebration to remember!
